Need help unwrapping Brick Buttress

Hi,
I need help unwrapping this Brick buttress. I need the chamfered version which makes it even harder.
I did try unwrapping in a another file and I found I need to cut the chamfered polygons apart in order for them to align with the grout lines on the other faces. Problem is that this approach is very error prone for the amount of effort needed.

I’m wondering if there is an easier way? I looked at Brian’s tutorials yet they don’t seem to cover this case. Even a simplified version eludes me which is included in the file.

I’ve attached a file of the Buttress in it’s position with the chamfered edges and a simplified version. The texture should be in the file. Brandywine bricks 100 uv repeats.

Thanks for any help or hints on how to achieve this.

Hello- I think I would apply box mapping and set the texture to use WCS/OCS box style -

Or simpler to ApplyOCSMapping and make the texture use OCS. I guess you get some weirdness on the chamfer, I don’t know what the bricks are expected to do there…

Hi @pascal
Setting the texture to use wcs/osc box style was the part I missed when I tried this on my own looks like a perfect result now that I tried your suggestion.
Thanks so much obliged for fast your help.

Hi @Japhy
Looks awesome glad even more progress is being made in the texturing and unwrapping process for V8.
