It’s also ignoring custom line colors (everything prints black).

If you are printing to vector PDF, then, yes, that’s correct.

I’m not seeing that here. Please provide the SystemInfo output.

SystemInfo is in my first post.

This happens when using vector printing, it uses the object layer print color rather than the display mode color settings.

This is what I was missing.

It would be nice if there was a way to print the shading using raster mode and layer the vector linework on top of that.

Yes.

That feature request is on the list as RH-69112 PDF Export / Printing: Allow raster and vector in one page
For now, you should be able to put two different details on top of each other and have one in a shaded mode with shadows.
