Materials in V8

I’m trying to change the image on the surface of a model I made in V7.
In V8 I see this - no way to swap out the image.
UV issue

The drop down arrow after Artwork reduced3.png just shows Artwork reduced3.png. No browse or anyway to select another image.
Thanks for any advice you’ve got.

I figured it out - it’s the Save icon under Viewport but that seems illogical to me - it should be under Texture

I’m struggling with this new UV editor.
I was wrong. Adding an image is done through the Texture category.
Got that figured out but where is Apply?
I get an image mapped to an object, all looks good and … what?
There’s no Apply button so I close the UV editor … and the image disappears from my model.
Back to V7 for the time being.

Do you have a material assigned to the object that also has that texture in the base color slot?

  1. Create surface
  2. Create material in Materials panel, I suggest a Physically Based material
  3. Add your texture to the base color slot
  4. Assign material to surface (drag on surface or select surface and rightclick on material, select assign to objects)
  5. UVEditor, make your tweaks, no need to search for Apply, that’s it.
