Low-res bitmap imported as Picture is fuzzy

I have a 32x32 bitmap exported from a Rhino V7 button

If I import it as a picture in V8, it looks like this:

Why is it so fuzzy? In Photoshop it’s completely crisp…

If I want to trace, I end up going through PS to make the Picture to import in Rhino.

Also had a bit of a scare, after importing the (original) bitmap as a picture, while it was selected I went to the materials tab in properties. The screen went black and I got the blue spinning wheel. I was like “Uh-oh, it crashed…” But 30 seconds later it came back with the material indicated. Tried to repeat it, but now everything seems normal again.

Hi Mitch - I see that too - I will check on it. The delay in Materials is here as well - but much shorter - the command line reports setting up materials for the first time, this may take a while. And it does. But here at least, really only once, I can close and reopen Rhino, place a picture and get that page in Properties instantly …

Well, IrfanView shows the bitmap as fuzzy, PS as crisp…
The V7 bitmap editor also gets it right…

Yeah, afterwards I kinda figured it was initializing something… but the black screen was scary at the moment. Now it works more or less instantly here too.

The fuzzy texture is I think the filtering that you need to disable. Filtering works in general well, unless you want to enlarge pixel by pixel.
