Line/curve width wish

Hi,

a real curve width would be handy.
Not talking about a screen-only or printing thickness, I mean a real width.

Just like Illustrator and Co. can do it.
When a draw a curve there, I immediately see the real width.
I also can set the end type etc.
The real geometry is just a curve, but displayed with the width.
There is also a command to get the outline as geometry.

In Rhino I can get a similar result then I offset a curve bothsides with the cap option.
But this can only be done after the curve is ready.
Cumbersome and not in realtime.
And I have several objects and not just the curve - hard to edit.

It would be good to have such realtime lines/curves with width in Rhino.

Thanks,

This would be handy for me as well, currently I am struggling with a problem that needs exactly this…

In Illustrator, this function is found under ‘Objekt - Aussehen umwandeln’.

In Rhino, I create pipes from the curves and then use _Silhouette.
The output as not very clean always…

In any case, the current tools do not allow a realtime design.

Yea, I have often turned to Rhino to draw a custom map. I end up copying curves in place and assign different display modes to get variations in width and have a solid core color with a black outline.
