Dear all,
are there any changes planned regarding new features in the layout or the dimension lines? If you need someone for testing, let me know - I am interested in this matter since we do a lot of 2D drawings;

Hi Peter -
It would help if you could be more specific about what you are looking for.
One change that comes to mind are non-rectangular details. GD&T is in the works…

I would like to see improved dimension lines that have a defined distance to the “base line” of the geometry. Some automated dimensions would be fancy as well. I am a big fan of the ordinate dimensions as well. For the ordinate dimensions are still a lot of controls missing. The way to control the ordinate dimension is very limited and its stubborn to align the dimension in the layout. I feel this could be improved a lot.
Also, it would be great, if you could have a way to get a proper vector drawing of your surface/brep without making a 2D drawing. With the “Technical” display you can’t control the properties for single objects or edges in any way. Also, the controls to manage the print outcome are confusing and should be reorganized (Using the “Technical” view).
I guess it’s not for all users relevant, but it would be great to have automated section symbols and height marks in the layout.
Rhino isn’t the strongest when it comes to make a proper technical drawing. I am really interested into every feature to improve this matter;
