Layer panel does not consistently respond to shift key

This is difficult for me to demonstrate because my video grabber doesn’t show keyboard entries, but I want to say something and get it on your radar because it makes sorting layers in Rhino 8 unreliable and buggy.

All I can say is that left mouse button + shift, + ctrl, or + shift & crtl keys should simply allow for the selection of multiple layers exactly like an OS file browser and like all previous versions of Rhino have for me. But in Rhino 8, sometimes the layer panel just fails to recognize Shift. Sometimes it feels like it recognizes it late. Sometimes if I select a bunch of layers, the sorting gets all ****ed up like below:

I hope there’s someone else out there with the power to explain what I’m trying to illuminate here, because I lack the wherewithal to explain it much better in a post. The layers panel is a source of serious frustration for me and one of the several reasons I cannot use Rhino 8, and I don’t know if this is related to this existing thread:

Anyone? Where is the progress on the layer panel?

I haven’t been able to reproduce the behavior, although I am currently on a slightly newer build. I can send that along if you want to test.

I can tell you that the layers panel sometimes, incorrectly, registers that the Shfit key is still being held down after layers have been rearranged. I cannot think of a way to show you when I’m holding down my Shift key or not to demonstrate it, but this does happen.

Just start highlighting layers, clicking around and moving them around. You’ll reproduce messed up behavior in no time.
