Just updated rhino this morning and for some reason my space mouse is all messed up.
I installed the latest 3dconnexion driver.
Restarted my computer (4 Times).
I also tried calibrating it (3 Times).
Below is me using it as normal, as you can see it is not even usable.

A little off topic, but I’ve noticed when I’ve been trying out V8 WIP, then go back to V7 all my 3D Connexion settings are gone, I have to reinstall my saved 3D Connexion settings every time , aplogies probably needs its own new topic
I’ve had issues in the past too, where windows has done some kind of update and my 3D Connexion mouse and navigator have lost all there presets, again I have to reinstall my saved 3D Connexion settings, hopefully someone from McNeel might be able to assist with your issue
Hi Milezee,
I’ve had the same problems in the past and it happened when I was working with different versions of Rhino ( V5, V6 and V7 wip).
In my opinion the problem is that the spacemouse application/driver changes the options depending on the active application… all the Rhino’s executable was Rhino.exe so the driver makes confusion and mix the options between different versions (making a mess).
The only way I found to have a stable configuration is to use only one Rhino version at a time (only V7 sessions or V6 and so on).
Mh, I see…
Another way I would try is to call the SpaceMouse options directly in Rhino and check that the options are consistent with the driver’s ones (before calling the SpaceMouse command in Rhino close the 3dConnexion window).
@Ryan14 if you check the “Use Selected Item” Rhino will force the target camera to the center of the selected objects; if no object is selected and “Auto” is checked, then the target will be sum of all the centers of the visible objects (the ones that are visible in the active view).
Sometimes you have to stop rotating and moving with the space mouse to let Rhino calculate the new camera target.
Do you have other Rhino version installed? V6 V8?
If yes, have you tried to see if they work in the same way as V7?
As last chance I would try to run “Reset All Settings” in the 3d connexion driver or to uninstall and re-install the driver…
Sorry if nothing I suggested worked… I know it’s frustrating when working things broke for no reason…
I’ve noticed the settings will definitely be different per each program.
Yes, I’ve noticed this too.
Also, frequently this will cause all of my visual tool pallets to get wiped, and the tool pallet file will get over written to the wiped state. So, I have to memorize which ones were last visual. This is something that lesser skilled users will become very frustrated over, and basically stop using Rhino. This problem dates back to antiquity.
But ultimately, it’s about what behavior do you expect, and what behavior can you achieve that’s as close as possible to what you expect. All while dealing with the conflicts between Rhino and 3Dconnexion, and lack of control thereof.
It’s too bad so many developers are letting their 3D mouses collect dust on the shelf.
Thank you @lander and @lucio_zadra for looking into this for me.
I reset the everything back to defaults and unchecked both the boxes that Lander mentioned. I must say that I have never really used object mode, but I will try to learn. After all, I am still young and can learn new stuff.
Things seem to be somewhat better after doing what you guys suggested.
Thank you for getting me back on track!
I will say that after using this space mouse for 2 years even with its downsides it has been a blast and I can definitely recommend it.
