@DanielPiker
Will Kangaroo be a native part of Grasshopper2?
GH2 is bringing some new ways to pass through data, will this affect how future versions of Kangaroo will work? Do other of your goodies will eventually become standard grasshopper components the same as it was with Triremesh? E.g. Heat method.
Hi @andrew.go
Kangaroo - yes, the plan is to have an updated version included as part of GH2
Do you have something in mind about new ways to pass through data?
As for things like the Heat method and rosy-field scripts - there’s not currently any plan to make them standard components - they are more open ended experiments, and I felt like for now just having them as open scripts to make them easy to modify allowed most flexibility.
It may be though that at some point it makes sense to incorporate them as part of Kangaroo. Currently the solver essentially moves sets of points around, but it could potentially also act similarly on sets of scalar or vector values.
I don’t have anything specific in mind. That was just a general question. I’ve seen kangaroo used in variety of ways, even for interfaces, so I was just curious. Maybe e.g. assinging metadata to some objects would do the difference.
