Sorry, I don’t even know where to look. I created a new drawing, and now in the perspective view when I right-click to rotate the view around, it behaves all wierd, like the center of rotation is way out somewhere so the view of my piece moves off the screen. Also, how can I control the zoom factor for the mouse wheel? thx
not entirely sure how orbit works under the hood in rhino, but when i have this issue in perspective, you can zoom to a selected object (default alias is ZSA) and that’ll reset the camera, mouse wheel zoom, and the center of orbit for the most part. you can also manually set the target of the camera to an object which will also resolve the issue, very handy in walkabout mode.
Thanks, manually resetting the cmera target worked. Much appreciated.
If you ever try a 3d mouse, chances are that you will never want to look back.
My last job had one but it was collecting dust no one was using it
I did try it for a short while not a big fan at first try
That’s one major mistake by people who try a 3d mouse for the first time. They don’t devote enough time to get used to it and play with the sensitivity settings for each of the 6 axes. Once they do that, it becomes a second nature for them to use a 3d mouse. The benefits are not only related to faster and easier navigation, but also vastly reducing the wrist pain of the right hand that holds the regular mouse.
I even made a couple of videos to compare both ways of navigating in the 3d space:
I think i just need to spend more time private, i was supposed to learn solidworks and edgecam so that i could produce codes for the cnc machines since the one guy they had just vanished to better pastures but since they didn’t like me advancing so much it was cut short back to production, didn’t sign further contract as they where not a serious company.
It was that one but the model without the display at least I cleaned it it was so dusty!
You have a great setup on the viewport very easy on the eyes and the zoom thing in rhino when I have many details it can be a pain to navigate sometimes
To be honest, I always feel quite confused while seeing the default UI of Rhino. Thankfully, Rhino 7 has broad customization options that suit the needs of every user, myself included.
yeah i did the v5 to v8 upgrade recently not a big fan of the new one im looking to customise it trying different settings
