How do you change a dimension scale in layout?

So I created my 3d design, then created a 4-view layout of it. I threw on some dimensions in the layout but now my client wants the dimensions scaled to about 50%. If I click on the dimensions in the layout and go to properties, changing the model space scale does nothing to the dimension. What is the proper way to change your dimension size in layout? Also, I have each view locked to a scale of 1" on page = 10" in model. I swear I was able to do this before.

I created an example for you guys. How do I change the size of the 1" dimension created in the detail view on this attached drawing? Thanks in advance.

Also, how can you add dimensions to the perspective view in the layout space? I believe this used to work but for some reason, I’m having issues now. In the attached file I added two 1.00 dimensions to the bottom of the part but in the layout space, it would not work. I had to exit out and do it in model space. The 2.1 dimension is what happens when I try and add an aligned dimension in the layout space.

Thanks for the help guys.

Hi Jacob - see if this is what you are after:

Hi Jacob -
I didn’t understand your first question; hope Pascal answered that for you…

As for this one, you can’t dimension objects on a detail in a perspective projection. Doing so results in paperspace dimensions.
