After update from .12.10.2021 version: 7SR11(7.11.21285.13001) Rhino is crushing every single time when I want to change Ground Plane material.

Hi - please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.

Hi -
Please disable Flamingo 5.0, Flamingo 5.5, and Scan&Solve and restart Rhino. Does that help?
I’m not finding any crash reports from your gmail account. Please always send in the report when Rhino crashes.
-wim

Cause it is crushing in rhino loged to my work e-mail which is: (–deleted–)
Check this one. I’ll back to you when I will do your tips.

Thanks Mateusz -
I’ve deleted that eMail address in your post as that might be found by spam-bots.
I checked that work account but didn’t find any crash reports from there either.

First try with the plug-ins disabled, and, if that doesn’t help, the next time Rhino crashes, before you send in the report, please look on the desktop for the dump file and upload that to Rhino - Upload to Support with a mention to this thread in the comments field. Note that sending in the crash report from the regular dialog box will then delete the dump file from the desktop.

So:

  1. cause Rhino to crash
  2. wait for Crash reporter dialog to pop up
  3. use File explorer to look on the Desktop
  4. find and send the .dmp file

Hi Wim,
I did your advice but it didn’t help. After I turned plugins back and set up ground plane to “water ocean” material in this case, it crushed again.I sent rhino crash .dmp file on Rhino-Upload Support

Hei Mateusz -

Just to make sure that I understand that part correctly. You disabled Flamingo, restarted Rhino, changed the ground plane and all went fine. Then you enabled Flamingo again and Rhino started crashing again?

Also, do you remember which version you were running before updating to 7.11?
-wim

Yes correctly. I disabled Flamingo and S&S–>restarted Rhino–>open again changed the ground plane(and in that point was ok because rendering engine was setup to random rhino render since flamingo was disabled)–> change back ground plane to default material(to avoid crushing during turning on Rhino) and save–> open again Rhino and enable Flamingo and S&S–>change ground plane water ocean material and in this point was a crush.
I’m not sure which version was before 7.11, I assume that latest one before 7.11. I’m doing updates always when Rhino inform me that update is available.

Thanks for confirming that!
We’ll get someone to look at that crash dump that you uploaded - RH-65970.

Apart from that, I can only recommend to start looking into replacing Flamingo with the built-in renderer that is based on the Cycles engine.

Hei Mateusz -

The 7.11 hotfix that was just released should solve the issue that you were having.

Hei Wim,
Thank you for your answer.
I did recently reinstalation of Rhino and Flamingo and that helped.
