Global width for lines

One feature of AutoCAD that may be useful in Rhino is an attribute of all line objects “Global width”. It can be changed per object and is independent of display settings. As name suggests it controls display width of lines, polylines, curves etc.

It’s quite an old feature, so I am curious if there has been any reason why it wasn’t ported to Rhino? It’s really useful to make sure lines come out the right size.

You can attribute print widths to curve objects and activate PrintDisplay to see them on-screen.

that is true, but I think it would be simpler if you could set width “finally”, so that you don’t have to worry what your printdisplay settings are. Thick line will always be visibly thick.

I think that it is supported by standard .dwg files?
