I’m having big problems of freezing and blocking with Rhino. Using the commands “unlocks selected objects” “remove from group” “invert selection and hide objects.” Using the commands that I have listed, appears almost always colored ball and in 90% of cases Rhino is not responding and I have to make a forced output. When commands work takes several seconds (even 2 minutes) before the command is accepted. The problem comes with the version of Rhino 5A766w ( OS X 10.9.5 ) .I am working with this file for about three months and more than 8 hours a day to slow down, I had never had any problems so big. The file has the following audits:
50 levels
2 dimension styles
3 font
15036 render materials
Calculation items:
21107 normal objects
12059 locked objects
367 hidden objects
No error
I can not send the file and this is a big problem.
Any suggestion is accepted to be able to continue my work.

Does the display mode you’re in make a difference? To test, maximize the viewport and try running the commands that show the issue with Wireframe as the active display mode. Make sure to set the Wireframe mode to the defaults in Preferences>Display modes too please.
I just want to make sure I understand. Does this problem only occur in latest Mac Rhino (5a766w) or have you had this problem in previous releases of Mac Rhino?
I confirm the problem with only window in wireframe.
To continue working, I’m thinking of exporting some levels, work on those and then import in the main project.
I’m having the problem only with version Rhino 5A766w (OS X 10.9.5). With previous versions of slowdowns but now I just use one of the commands that I have listed, appears immediately colored ball.
Thanks for checking the display mode. I know you said you can’t send the file but if you can delete any super secret objects and send the model to tech@mcneel.com referencing this forum thread that would be great. If you indicate the file is confidential, we’ll also make it only visible by the developers and can delete it when no longer needed if you ask.
I’ll also look for a file that has a similar number of objects, materials etc. to test. I mainly have product design models but @mary might have an architectural model on this scale to test.
I tried to open the file with the 5A732 and there are few delays. The only thing that comes to mind is to work on a reduced file obtained with the export of certain selected layers.
Thanks but I can not use Yosemite because of the incompatibility of some essential programs. But I think that the problem can not be reproduced with a 3 objects. My file has more than 20000 objects
We still need your help to clarify this report and to help us duplicate this issue here in our lab. If we can duplicate it, we can get it fixed.
Please send a file. I do not see one in this thread, but I may be missing it, sorry. Again, the file can be empty of anything sensitive, but a simple file that some the problem. You can send anything that is private to mary@mcneel.com.
The procedure should be “step but step” and include even minor details. This is where a small QuickTime video can help.
“unlocks selected objects” “remove from group” “invert selection and hide objects.” Do you get the lock up with all of these commands separately, or do they need to be used in this order.
You say “freezing and blocking with Rhino”. Are you using the Block command when this happens"" Do you have Blocks in your model or just groups?
I also use 10.9.5, and have not experienced the issue you decribe
Please help us with more details, a model and clear procedure.
