FillMeshHole(s) not working on imported mesh

Hi all, i have several large *.stl files from a 3d scanner, imported into rhino 8. The mesh in question is about 575k polys.

Now i would like to fill all the meshs holes but so far no luck. None of the FillMeshHoles tools seem to do anything. The FillMeshHoles tool seems to be the most straight forward

After the mesh has been selected, rhino seems to do something. After the tool has finished howerer, i can’t detect any changes to the mesh.

I’ve tried this with smaller files and the outcome is the same. Am i doing something wrong or is the FillMeshHoles tool somehow broken?

If you post a model that doesn’t work, the simpler the better, I’ll have a look.
