Feature request - Layer visibility in details

Hi there, I am struggling with tons of detail views and many layers in the model space. The detail views show different layers. When I create a new layer, objects on this layer will show up in every detail, ‘new detail off’ can only be activated after I created that layer obviously. So I tried to duplicate a layer where new detail was turned off. However, this layer will be turned on in details where its source layer was turned on before. Checking all details on all layouts is not really an option.
So maybe we could have a window where we can turn layers on and off similar to clipping planes/sections per layout. And super perfect would be a small preview of that layout where you can actually see what detail you are playing with (same for the sections). Yes I know naming them would help, but you don’t do that with tons of details…

Another option might be to select details in layout space and then be able to turn layers on and off for all selected details without the necessity to doubleclick each individually. Usually you do not use ‘model layers’ in layout space anyway
Thanks a lot!

HI Sebastian -

I’ve added this thread to RH-4578 Layout wishes

When new geometry on a new layer is added to all existing details on all layouts, you can select the one detail where you want to show this new geometry and turn that layer off for all other details on all other layouts. You do this by selecting a detail and right-clicking on the “Layout On” lightbulb for that layer. Then pick the appropriate option.

Note, this only works for layers and you’ll have to create all new geometry on new layers…
