Layer visibility in Detail View

Hello,
is there a way to have different layers visible in the Detail View that are not visible in the model view?
Example:
I am working on an architectural plan and I have 3 versions of furniture.
I have created 3 layouts and 3 Detail Views, one for each version.

When I need to work on one version in the model view I turn of the layer visibility of the other 2 so that I can see what I am working on. Unfortunately this also turns the 2 layers off in the Detail View. Before I export my 3 plans I need to make sure to turn everything back on in the model view.

That is not a big problem in above example, but I have plans that contain hundrets of layers and I create PDF sets that sometimes have more than 30 pages in the PDF export.

How can I make the layer visibility in the Detail View independant of what I see in the model view?

I tried to find answers via google and youtube but I still don’t have a solution for this (simple) problem.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi toromanovic -

In Rhino 8, there are two different “Layer On” columns. One sets the global state for both model space and layout space, the other sets the state for model space when you are in model space and layout space or an active detail when you are in layout space.

Wow, that was easy. I didn’t know that the socond column also can controll the model space so I always used the first column for the model space and the second one for the Detail View.

Thank you very much for your fast response.

I am sorry to bother you again but I have one more problem:
If I have for example multiple layouts and multiple Detail Views per layout and I create a new layer then the new layer will be visible everythere.

Is there a way to turn it off in every Detail View because I only need it in 2 Views?
I can not use the main switch as I still need it in 2 details.
If I use this funktion here it will only affect the current Detail View and not all Detail Views:

I only found the option “New Detail On” but I already have dozens of details when I create new layers or when I import new elements into my drawings.

Those might seem like simple questions but I really struggle with this. There are many tutorials about modeling but not much info about this topic.
