FBX not coming in with materials?

The FBX has materials assigned in Maya as “Standard Surface” type.

Here’s how I import them in Rhino:
old_sofa_4.fbx (13.1 MB)
old_sofa.mtl (189 Bytes)
old_sofa.obj (159.6 KB)

For some reason, they only come in as “Default Material”?

Exporting as OBJ format does not fix my problem.

However, note that the UVs are shown correctly in Rhino:

For reference, the UVs in Maya:

What might be happening?

Importing this FBX file into Blender also gives only white material.

And the OBJ doesn’t import image textures because the MTL file does not reference them.

You need to ensure they are in both properly exported.

It is easy enough to set up a material with the textures you shared:

I realized the MTL problem shortly after and created a new physically based material. It gave that warning about OCS mapping but resolved itself (what is that?). Thanks!!

Hi Nathan,
it seems that the UV mapping is not right by default.I want to know the way how you fix it.Thanks.

Not sure what you mean. I imported the sofa, created the material, added the image textures to their respective slots and assigned the material to the object. I did not do anything besides that.

This is with Rhino 8.
