Fan problems

I run Rhino 6 on HP ZBook 17 G2. Drawing just a couple of lines in the shaded mode triggers the cooling system on. The fans blast like i was doing something really hard and consuming. This doesn’t happen when working on, say, very large SU, C4D, PS, illustrator or Premiere files. Any help would be appreciated.

Harri, are you by any chance running NVidia card?

I had similar issue on my workstation, and recently this helped to control the fan craziness:

Empty Rhino is very resource intensive

I see about what you see with my p4000. @BoinB, @Charles, @Holo, All - Jeff has been digging into this today and what he found, and it worked here as well, is that this setting, Power management mode, in the NVidia control panel: [image] needs to be set as in the image: NVidia driver-controlled. If you can try this and report back that would be helpful - thanks. -Pascal
