I’m running into this situation where ExtrudeCrv fails, most of the time, on a filleted rectangle.

I’m seeing the same thing. It only fails within a particular range of extrude distances. With BothSides=No
, it works in one direction but fails in the other up to a point where it works again. Exploding and re-joining the curve seems to fix it.
There is a warning/error message in the command history window:
One input was not extruded because it would have made an invalid surface.
yes, there are many ways to fix it, but this is most likely a bug.
Weirdly, moving the curve to a slightly different location changes what extrude lengths it fails for.
This object is quite far from the origin; if you move it to the origin the problem does not occur.
that’s also true… maybe it is to far from world origin?
yes, but I need to extrude where it is, not close to world origin…
Sure, I get that. Maybe consider a change of units to meters with object scaling? That also seems to work.
