Extremely Slow When I Switch To Shade Mode

Hey forum,
I used Rhino 6 on my machine for a while and everything was working correctly,
Lately, when I switch to Shade mode, it was really slow , and will respond after one min.
My material is on the server, and when it’s slow the task mangers shows highly network usage.!
But it shouldn’t be that slow lol.

Hi - please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and post the result here.
Have you changed any of the settings in Rhino Options > View > Display Modes > Shaded?
Can you post a simple file that exhibits this behavior?

Hello,
I have same problem, could you find any solution?

Hello - same request - Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

How to update Intell driver when the computer doesn’t want to:

Hello,
Thank you. Is this the solution for my problem?

you have a machine that does not meet v7 system requirements, running an ancient video card driver.

Vendor Name: Intel
Render version: 4.0
Shading Language: 4.00 - Build 10.18.10.4358
Driver Date: 12-21-2015

you may be able to get a little more life out of this machine by updating your intel driver here:
(use the intel automated tool)
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html

you may also work better if you notch down your open gl performance using the open gl slider.

The real answer is: your machine is more than 6 years old… it’s time to retire it and get yourself some up to date equipment. You will be shocked at how much better the new machine with proper graphics cards will run.

see this thread-

and this one-

Hello,
I work with rhino 6, you mean it doesn’t meet its system requirements?
It was working well before, and just once when i run rhino and it works slowly. I restart rhino and laptop several times bur it didn’t matter.

Incidentally, your V6 is way out of date – please install the latest one.
https://www.rhino3d.com/download/archive/rhino-for-windows/6/latest
As well as the most recent grapics driver you can find for your system on the Intel website.
But your system is still very thin, even by V6 standards.

Thank you Mr.Golay, :((
But I’m working with v6 more than 3 years with this system. It’s not possible for me to change my machine. Isn’t there any another solution?
Thank you for your help.

Hello - lets start with

  1. Update Rhino
  2. Update the Intel driver to the latest available from Intel’s website.

Then see how things work.
