I have a relatively simple problem, but I don’t know how to solve it, I tried some ways but it didn’t work.
Basically, I need to extract the Work Plane from an adaptive point of a family. All adaptive points have 3 Work Planes, where we can draw model lines and the like.
I need to be able to draw a model line that is aligned and moves along with the adaptive point, natively, this means that even without the RIR, once the model line is created, it will follow the adaptive point.
If anyone can think of another solution to this problem, I am open to suggestions! But I can really only think of this solution.
Basically, my idea is to make a flat curve with the model line, which will be the profile of an aluminum part.
After making these model lines at two different points, I will select both sets and use the Create Shape: solid shape command.
By the way, I would like to know if there is also a way to activate this command via RIR.
In addition, I also need to insert material, subcategory and similar information into this solid, but I haven’t gotten to that part yet.
This way, the elements created would all be native to Revit, and it will not be necessary to use RIR after creating the family.
Regarding being built in the family, I can draw the model lines without any problems, but I need the profile to follow the adaptive point, so I would like to know if it is possible to extract the work plane from the point, so that they would be automatically linked. However, if there is another way to do this, I would love it, but this link needs to work even without RIR, which is why I do not use the “standard” alignment of moving through RIR.
Sorry if the text is too long, if you have any questions about what I said, just ask!
Thank you very much, your post really helped me a lot, it’s one of the components I’m needing. But I’m not able to use the full code, because I believe that your version of treesloth is not in Food4Rhino, because I can’t download both components from it. Do you know how to solve this?
