Downgrade Rhino service release version

Install previous version

I wish to downgrade my version from Rhino 8 SR12 (8.12.24282.7001, 2024-10-08) to an earlier version (SR11). But I can not figure out how to do so. I have read through the downloads page but cannot find any links (Rhino - Downloads)

Original bug

The original reason I want to do this downgrade installation is that I suspect there is a change in 8.12 that causes our grasshopper scripts to hang rhino.compute locally.
The bug we get only appears for 2 of our developers (both on Rhino 8.12), but not on the other 2 developers (on 8.8 and 8.11).

Hi Alexander -

Depending on how you update Rhino, you might find exe files of earlier versions on your PC or that of one of the other developers. Automatic downloads are put in a subfolder of the following folder:

%userprofile%\Appdata\local\McNeel\McNeelUpdate\DownloadCache\

If that is caused by something in a default install of Rhino, please make sure to provide details about this issue so that you avoid getting stuck with an old SR of Rhino.

Thank you Wim!

Heres what I know

  • Running rhino.compute locally with Rhino 8.11 installed works fine!
  • With 8.12 I get the TaskCancelledException after 100s when running grasshopper scripts (via compute), did not occur in 8.11, script typically finishes in ~2-5 seconds.
  • New python component hangs grasshopper script when running via compute

TaskCancelledException

Hi again @wim!

Is it possible to find a url for downloading Rhino using a link.
I want something like this, but for Rhino 8.11 (So that I can use it with Rhino Compute)
https://files.mcneel.com/dujour/exe/20241008/rhino_en-us_8.12.24282.07001.exe

I got the link from this page.
