Rhino 8 and Rhino Compute Issue

I was using Rhino 7 and Rhino.Compute normally. When I upgraded to Rhino 8, I found it difficult to connect to Rhino.Compute. Do you have any idea what it could be?

@AndyPayne - can you help?

When you say you upgraded to Rhino 8… did you just install a new version of the Rhino stand alone application? Or did you install a version of Rhino.Compute that’s compatible with Rhino 8? Are you running your Rhino.Compute server locally? Or is this server running on a VM? Can you describe your upgrade process?

So, I’ve only updated Rhino, I haven’t changed anything in Rhino.Compute. How do I know which version of Rhino.Compute is compatible with Rhino 8?
I’m running Rhino.Compute locally.

Ah ok. Well, the good news if you’re running it locally is that the fix is really easy. All you need to do is run the package manager in Rhino 8 and install the latest version of Hops. This will install a version of Rhino.Compute that is compatible with Rhino 8 and it will start automatically once you start Grasshopper (after a restart). Hopefully after doing this, your error should go away.

I updated Hops, but it didn’t work.

Can you provide specifics about what version of Rhino 8 you are using as well as the version of Hops that you installed? I’m assuming you restarted Rhino/GH after updating the Hops package?

Yes, I did it.
