Disable osnaps but keep project...how?

Hi, I am tracing round an organic shape in a photo, hoping the profiles that result enable me to surface the network of curves. InterpCrv keeps snapping to all sorts but hitting disable also disables project which is what I need to avoid the curve whipping about etc.

How can I use project which is not a snap as such, as I see it, and disable these distractions to my tracing of the curve ?

Steve

you can disable the osnap and the Planar option (near to Ortho) at the bottom of the window, then every point you pick should be projected to the CPlane

Hi, Thanks for that, I see it acts as if I hit the disable button, but one has faith in the fact it is drawing on Cplane.

Alt toggles Osnap on or off in this mode.

Hi Steve - it is not necessarily - if Osnaps are off, normal drawing will always be on the CPlane, but with Planar on, drawing is on a plane parallel to the CPlane through the last point picked - if that point was not on the CPlane, the next bit of drawing will not be either.

Hi,

aha… to be sure all work is going to Cplane and nothing is snapping, avoid having on ‘Planar’.

Cheers
