I’ve created a custom display mode for non-subject geometry and can’t set it to specific objects utilizing ‘setobjectdisplaymode’. As you see its been created and I can use it for a viewport but when I go to set the objects the new mode does not exist in the taskbar. Is this me or just Rhino 8?
Hi Michael - make sure the mode has this setting enabled:
Note, if the display mode is based on the ‘Technical2D’ pipeline, lower on that same page, it will not have this ‘per object’ setting available.

Is this not expected in the future? Still no possibility to assign Technical2D pipline display mode per object?

It’s on the list of things to look at “in the future”, but, yes, at this point it’s not possible to assign technical display modes to individual objects.
