Curves control points won't turn off

After the first time turning on the control points for curve editing, now when selecting a curve the points turns on automatically. [can not select curves without the points turning on]
this continue even after restarting the computer and drawing a curve in a new model
a single click on a curve both select it and turn on the points, then one esc deselect, and a second esc turns off the points here is the simplest possible file with just one curveCP won’t turn off.3dm (3.0 MB)

In Preferences > Mouse uncheck “Turn on control points when selecting a curve, light or annotation”

thanks a lot yes.
But do you feel that should be the default setting there…? perhaps better to leave that option unchecked by default.
I did searched before asking here.

This is a change that happened with v6 on Windows (and there are a lot of threads on that, too). I guess for some it is great, for others it isn’t.

there is something here though; It appears the WIP currently does not remember this options mouse setting change and revert to the PtOn Selection default [not immediately but after a few restarts/& small crashes it forgets the settings]
