Curved surface modeling

I am modeling a sculptural hood that requires a straight wall to curve into an almost conical shape. While “sketching” with Rhino ages ago, I was able to create something that almost worked (except for a slight geometry aberration), however, I made it so long ago that I can’t figure out how to recreate it.

I now need to create a surface that is based on more stringent boundaries, but so far haven’t had any luck. While I can get a surface that is close, they all tend to be too flared. I’ve attached a file with the original geometry that I made, the wireframe that I’m trying to match a surface to, and some examples of tests that haven’t worked. Would anyone know of a way to create a curved surface to fit the wireframe? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Here’s how I’d do this… Hood_bjames.3dm (1.0 MB)

I think two surfaces are needed for this form.

Here’s a different way… just for the sake of variety.

-Pascal

Thanks for the two options!

We’ve actually decided to use a set of offset, flared surfaces instead of a single continuous one so that it can be built more easily, but both methods are good to know for the future.

Thanks again!
