Curtain wall plugin in rhino or grasshopper

Hey guys, Is there any way to create a curtain wall by just assigning surfaces?
and have a control slider for the griding and all the stuff?

Thanks

Hello @huzefam1,

I am not sure about what you mean, do you need to create a curtain wall from a surface?

For now, curtain walls can be created from curves using VisualARQ or the VisualARQ Grasshopper components. Please, could you tell me from which kind of surface you need to create this curtain wall? We might find a workaround for it.

Hey, @alfmelbev
Thanks for replying. For the NURBS surfaces, I want to do a curtain wall. It can be rectangular straight surfaces or undulated surfaces.

Hell @huzefam1,

I think you can use VisualARQ to do it. If you are not currently using VisualARQ, you can download a free evaluation verion for 90 days here.

Please, take a look at this example about how curtain walls can be created first:

In VisualARQ, objects like curtain walls are organized in styles. A style defines common properties and parameters for VisualARQ objects, you can learn more about curtain wall styles here:

Now, as I said in my previous post, curtain walls can only be created from curves at the moment, although we are planning to add a feature to create curtain walls from surfaces. In the meantime, you can use the VisualARQ Grasshopper Components to develop a definition which retrieves the base curve from a surface to create the curtain wall. I have made an example here, I hope it works for you; if it doesn’t, please, let me know what you would need instead:

curtain wall

surface.3dm (2.7 MB)

curtain wall.gh (8.8 KB)

Please, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions about it.
