I am hoping that someone can tell me why everything I use (Illustrator, Acrobat, Rhino, Windows) to manipulate the linked file has such a hard time.
Rhino 8.9 from 7/12/2024 crashed every time I opened this model from the original file, so I copied and pasted it into a new file. Still too difficult to use with Rhino and Adobe Illustrator, so I exported it at 1/50 of its normal size and opened it as a new file. That actually created a larger file.
Even Acrobat takes a while to open and view this file after exporting it to PDF.
Illustrator hangs and never seems to come back from its non-responsive state, so I End Task. This happens when exporting as an .AI file or a .PDF.
When exported, the AI file is nearly 300 MB, the vector PDF is about 60 MB, and the raster PDF is 1-2 MB, while the current size of the Rhino file is 84 MB.
I can get nowhere with this model and the files produced from it and have been trying to eliminate as much as possible and streamline the model so that Make2D does not take 15 minutes or more to do its thing.
I know how to do the things I need, but I cannot get there when the software I use cannot handle the file.
TL;DR:
Questions:
I am hoping someone can let me know why this model has caused so much mayhem:
Why is it so difficult to work with this model?
How can I complete the visuals I need (sections, exploded views, axonometric, detail, and elevations) while using this model?
Thank you.
