There seems to be a possible bug with Cplane creation.
I created a Cplane with 3 points and after it’s created, the grid of it disappears, although it’s still there.
I know it’s still there because I saved it as a named Cplane and in another viewport set the Cplane to that and set view to plan. In this second viewport the grid for the Cplane shows up as expected/created - But in the original viewport in which the Cplane was created, no matter what I do I can’t get it back(grid showing). I tried changing between the standard grids and the new Cplane, and also close/reopen the file - but it still stays ‘borked’. Only way around is to close that viewport and use another one. Just thought I would bring it up as a possible issue that could be looked at.
There isn’t enough information in your description to be able to troubleshoot this issue. Please provide both a simple 3dm file and the output of the Rhino SystemInfo command.
-wim
Although I’m not needing for the issue to be ‘resolved’ - I’m good with doing the workaround I described, I mainly posted in case you discover someone else has the same issue, it would indicate it’s not an isolated one.
However here’s the Rhino file. I did SystemInfo but there seems to be too much information to post publicly that I’m comfortable with. If you would still like to see it though, I would send it ‘privately’ if there’s a channel for that. Cplane.3dm (69.3 KB)
Hi,
After you create your cplane or activated a named one you might have to turn the grid on.
You can do this by hitting the F7 hotkey which turns on and off the current grid.
In V7 if you have the grid on when you create a cplane via 3points then the grid displays when you use that grid so this looks like a bug in V8 though I don’t have V8 to test with. Also be wary of universal vs regular cplanes I don’t know what the gird does in this case since all Viewports are updated.
