Convert a sketchup mesh object into a editable rhino object? HELP

Hi, I am trying to model this castle and I found this photo scan online which is a sketchup file. In rhino I am able to select the parts of the object and it looks like a mesh object in rhino but when I move it to rendered mode or try to extract/ dup any surface it does not work.

Is there any way to make this into a rhino object that I can edit and render and add to. Would there be any dup or copy commands that would let me extract the geometry into polysurfaces or something like that.

The other less developed model is what I would preferably want the object to be like.

Ive added the file as well.

Two options.

The SKP import command will do a conversion to a BREP from the mesh. THis is OK, but the overall shape of the object will not change. As a good example that round foundation will not be truly circular, but will still have the same flat faces, they will just be NURBS.

For curved surfaces there needs to be some intervention.
For this simple model, just snapping to the vertices and drawing circles and lofting will be the best and fastest. Sometimes just a quick remodel is best.

Another way, especially for more complicated shapes converting to Curved surfaces and solids either can be done by fitting SUBD to the initial mesh by using Quadremesh with the interpolate SUBD options. Here is an example:

It will only work if you stop using sketch up :face_with_hand_over_mouth::wink:  :slightly_smiling_face: :beers:jk

That’s awesome :sunglasses: Rhino truly has it all :beers: best CAD ever :star_struck:

Hahah, I just found a sketchup 3D scan online and wanted to use it :sob::sob::joy:
