Convert STL format to rhino geometry,

i have some stl files that open in rhino but you can’t do anything with the geometry. it won’t intersect, split or anything.

i’m thinking there might be a way to convert this to rhino geometry ?

this question comes up pretty often. generally it very much depends on how complex your object is and what you want to do with it. MeshToNurb will make a NURBS surface out of each polygon face. if thats what you need. if you need the topography from an object and want to make a full NURBS object out of it then you will have to use some effort.

there are tools like meshsplit meshintersect etc. so you can do something with meshes, its limited of course.

Thanks Richard, I know nothing about mesh so I think mesh to nurb will work.
