Hi everyone,
I am trying to follow along some tutorials which have obviously been written for Windows. Is there any way to get the command window to look like this on a Mac?

No, I don’t think so. On macOS, this simply works a little different, but the small button in the lower left corner shows your command history.
Options of currently active commands aren’t selected in the command window (by clicking on text links), but rather in the side bar that changes appearance.
