Columns problems

Hi everyone,

I’m having a few issues with translating columns from Grasshopper to Revit:

  1. When I connect lines from Grasshopper to the column component, I often get slanted columns in random places. The lines are extracted using a list item, and that’s the only difference compared to the other lines—geometrically, the lines are exactly the same. (Please see the attached image.)
  2. When the columns are generated in Revit from Grasshopper, they’re automatically offset from the last floor—even though I’ve assigned the lower level correctly using the level picker. The columns are supposed to start from the slab, but after placing the parquet floor, they seem to have shifted. Why is this happening?
  3. Occasionally, I get columns that span across four levels without following any apparent rule, even though they’re coming from the same list as the other (correctly placed) columns.

Hi Борис Ивановић,

We’ll need more information to be able to help.

Can you provide a example file showing your problem?

Its also helpful to know which version of Revit and Rhino you are targeting. Thanks!

May be you need to play around with Column Style. But it would be nice if you could share the example file.

Here you will find scripts for columns and you will notice that the first colum didn’t generate columns at all.
Real model.3dm (11.5 MB)
test.gh (157.6 KB)

I tried, but no difference.

Hi @Борис_Ивановић,

I don’t see any issue. Can you also attach your Revit File to get the correct levels?

Yes, here is Revit file. First, I have made all levels in Revit and then transfer them to grasshopper.
