Closing Standalone Rhino crashes Revit with Rhino Inside

So I’ve been noticing a lot of Revit crashes recently, which seemed random at first. However, this morning I realized that they are actually reproduceable.

For me, Revit will crash if I do the following:
1- Open any version of Revit, and launch Rhino Inside. Open the Rhino window and the Grasshopper window.
2- Launch a new Rhino window (standalone/ not Rhino inside, just vanilla Rhino 7).
3- Close the standalone Rhino instance.
4 - Revit crashes

Are other people seeing this as well? I can ask my IT department to reinstall any/ all of the programs to see if it helps (not sure if it would or not). But I would also be happy to do a screen recording or submit logs, if it is helpful to development.

Thanks

What’s your setup? Run SystemInfo in the Rhino command line.

As well as the About info in Rhino.Inside.Revit ribbon. Thanks

Thanks Matthew,

Lets update the video driver for the NVIDIA RTX A3000 Laptop GPU Memory: 6GB, Driver date: 4-20-2022.

Also ensure these settings are applied.

Next can we update or remove the enscape for testing purposes (from Rhino & Revit)

Absolutely, I’ll aim to test more tomorrow and get back to you.

I’ve also experiencing issues as discribed above. Has there been any resolution to this?

I haven’t heard anything else on this.

Do you have any of these particular plugins installed as well?

I had a hunch it was related to Enscape, and it seems like that is correct.

My first troubleshooting step was to uninstall Enscape, and now I cannot seem to reproduce the crashing issue.

I will try updating drivers and such, and then try re-installing Enscape and test further.

I have ElefrontProperties.rhp installed. Is this a known issue?

Paul, We are thinking it might be something to do with licensing (if enscape is ruled out). There aren’t many things that both a standalone Rhino and RiR instance share that could cause the behavior.

@Matthew_Breau1 Can you repeat this if Rhino Standalone is opened first? What is your license environment? (Lan, Zoo, Standalone). Thanks.

I experienced a similar issue and I have another very certain crashing situation is that if I paste a component(with internalised data normally) from the standalone rhino grasshopper into RhinoinsideRevit grasshopper, Revit will crash immediately.

I have Enscape installed too, haven’t tested without it.

Let me know if you have any ideas, thanks

Sida

Removing the Enscape Revit Addin resolves this issue, still unsure if this is happening in the current Enscape addin or just previous versions.
