We’ve outsourced IT where I work, so I’m attempting to update the Zoo server myself for the first time.
I’ve installed Zoo 8, and running it I see our v6 and v7 licenses, but the Add options are greyed out both in the toolbar and menu. The red stop button isn’t greyed out, but it’s unresponsive.
What’s the problem and how do I proceed?
EDIT: Also when I hit the wrench icon, the window which pops up is mostly outside of the desktop… and holding windows key and arrows at the same time doesn’t move the window, but perhaps that’s because I’m remoting to the server.
EDIT: Oh, more weirdness! In the toolbar, the stop button is red and the start button is disabled, but in the menu, it’s the other way around! And then I press the start button from the menu, this pops up…
Yes. Everything I wrote is in the “add license” step of the docs. But it’s greyed out so I can’t proceed.
EDIT: The issue was apparently that I’m logged in remotely with an account that doesn’t default to running everything as administrator, so I had to specifically select that… but that sever was also running a weird version of Windows which didn’t make that obvious.
No. Now it wants the “previous license key”, but no key from the mail I have works and I can see our two previous licenses in the window behind it at any rate (and no keys I tried from what I can see there works either).
This is frankly a terrible user experience!
EDIT: Had to dig up a three year old mail from the previous person who handled this and that admin dialog still asked me twice about the key and now I’m sitting here looking at this screen…
I’m sorry I cannot help you at this point, this is beyond my pay grade. I’ve asked help internally, but that means you will probably have to wait till Seattle wakes up.
