Bug Report: Clipping Drawing "Visible Background"

I still have problems with clipping drawing.
The background lines don’t behave consistent. Visible and Hidden are not correct.
While i move the clipping plane the lines are changing the layers even though they shouldn’t

@rajaa it seems we are almost there, just before rhino 9!

It’s the last issue i see. Only undo and redo are causing some irregularities (Drawings disappearing), but are corrected once you update them again.

Hi -

Thanks.
I’ve mainly added this to an existing bug report:
RH-82460 Hidden lines behind clipping plane become visible

I’m afraid that seeing that this one has been on the list for a longer time and finding a similar item on Matthew’s list makes me think this is not going to get fixed for the 9.0 release.

I’ve also created a new report based on your scene, where background curves move out of position.
RH-96582 ClippingDrawings: Curves jump out of place

Thanks for your response!

Oh dang the issue is 2 Years old and release Rhino 9, i was hoping it is a smaller bug :frowning:

But thanks anyway!

Note:
That it judges the Clipped brep as “open” and grabs the edges that get shown as visible sounds logical, but why it grabs 1 into hidden and 1 into visible and even changes decision while moving the clippingplane. That seems random. I hope you find the bug

RH-96582 is fixed in Rhino BETA
