Hi guys I am struggling with background lines showing in my layout drawings. I understand that this may just be a limitation of the software and Rhino is doing exactly what I’ve told it to but its making producing architectural drawings quite hard as lines behind objects make for a confusing drawing.
I create tons of layout pages, I often use the command ‘HideInDetail’ useful. I’m not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve but does using draw orders help with what you need-’SendtoBack’, ‘BringtoFront’ etc
Thanks for that model.
I’ve put this bug on the list as RH-89147 ClippingDrawings: Background Edge Falsely Marked Visible
You can move the clipping plane to a different position to make that background edge go away. I haven’t found any position that triggers this and you’ll have to move it around a bit while watching the drawing update. In the model that I’ve attached to that bug report, I’ve created a rectangle, which center seems to do the trick.
Apart from that, you could use the clipped view of the 3D model directly to view and annotate in a detail that is set to a technical display mode.

Here’s your file with a duplicated layout where all details reference the 3D geometry directly.
I didn’t recreate all annotations, but the ones that I made are all on the layout.
You’ll want to turn off hidden lines in the Technical display mode.
When you print this to vector PDF, all edges will be printed as vector lines.
