Apple M1 Max w/ Monterey - Rhino 7 & 8 WIP won't open

Just purchased a new MacBook Pro 2021 - operating with Mac OS Monterey 12.0 with the M1 Max chip. I have downloaded and installed both versions Rhino 7 and Rhino 8 WIP. Each time I attempt to open the application, I am immediately prompted with “Rhino quit unexpectedly” - unable to open the application at all. I understand this is an intel based program and I have Rosetta 2 installed.

Has anyone run into this issue? Is Rhino totally incompatible with the new MacBook?

Hi, I just received my MacBook Pro 2021 as well, downloaded Rhino 7, installed Rosetta and was able to login to my account and open Rhino.

Only difference i can see is OS Monterey 12.0.1 - Pro Chip

I would try updating Monterey to 12.0.1 first to see if that helps

Ok, after a few restarts and updating to 12.0.1, I can open open rhino. 3D performance is super laggy but at least we have progress.
