Installed WSL (Windows Subsystem Linux) for running Anthropic Claude-Code, it apparently enabled the Windows “Virtual Machine Platforms”. This gave me the X-Nurbs error 17.
Disabling it in Windows Features was the answer to the X-Nurbs license issue.
“Virtual Machine Platform” is a Windows feature that provides underlying virtualization support for:
- WSL 2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux version 2)
- Hyper-V containers
- Platform support for virtual environments
It’s a low-level component that enables virtualization-dependent tech to run, but does not provide a full GUI or management interface like Hyper-V Manager.
