Well, the intent of text dots are that they are screen-space objects and thus do not change size due to zoom level, annotation style or anything else. For that purpose they are very useful. If you want something that looks like text dots, use Text with a mask. Granted they donāt have round edges (been asked for) but they do work like all other annotation objects.
Well, annotation styles might not be the right place for the setting, but It would be nice to have them at least somewhere (maybe in display modesā¦).
The _ClippingDrawings command does not have an option to use text with mask as a labels. It will auto generate text dot with Arial 14, when āShow labelā is checked on. And if you run _UpdateClippingDrawings command, the labels will always return to Arial 14 no matter what.
I really like this one! Looks way better than the text dot and the possibility to change margins is nice. But like I said, the clipping drawings are using text dots as labels at the moment in Rhino 8.
