Wish - length of the curve in _BlendCrv

Hi all,

I don’t know if anyone has already asked this, but it would be interesting to find a field/label that reports the length of the curve that is created using the command: _BlendCrv (Adjustable curve blend) in a free space in the box.

you could script that by making a hot key for-

_BlendCrv pause pause enter -DimCurveLength pause pause pause pause enter

hi @theoutside thanks for reply,

I meant, the reason why I posted this question was to know the length of the curve before exiting the _BlendCrv command and therefore with the consequence that with each modification of the control points and the final curve the length of the curve in the box field of the aforementioned command is also updated.

ah-
how would you use that?

I’m curious what the use case scenario is for this feature.

Some rent seeking clients only pay for G2 curves up to 1/7" length, so this function is vital for anyone running an industrial design business.

do expand… I am now very curious about this…
I have never heard of such a thing and I’ve been in the ID biz for a loooog time.

Some clients go to 11. You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

If by go to 11 you mean to be too demanding, maybe this is true, I don’t like to settle.

I believe this is also the spirit of a project like Rhino:
(not being satisfied but always going further)

I use Crease which, starting from a straight line with a specific length, is the only
command that leaves the dimension unchanged, but then I have to modify it with
several steps to obtain the tangency/curvature losing the original length.

“This is why my request was born, to have a curve with a specific length.”

Maybe I think I understood the thought you wanted to convey:

For what I need to do, I don’t have a curve path to compare it with. Basically, I have the start and end points of the curve to create, with a total length to respect, but no path to follow.
