i made a detailed table model with minute details but i think its still should not be 1.34 GB ? what am i doing wrong?
Hi @ayaan07yani
Without seeing the file, it’s going to be qualified guessing, but the main culprits could be (in no particular order):
Massive textures (embedded in the file)
Highly detailed objects (things like screws and bolts with threading comes to mind)
Dense render meshes
Plugin data (if you are running any 3rd party plugins)
Imported mesh data
Un-used blocks (use blockmanager to, well, manage them)
History (if you use history, that is)
You can try to save your file with a new name and de-selecting textures or plugin-data to see if that reduces your file size significantly. Also try Purge to delete any un-used layers, blocks, materials etc. Oh, and before all that, you might try the Audit3dmFile command, where you can see just how many bytes the various sections ( of your file take up. It’s a bit of a hassle to looking through the report of the audit command, as the sections are not clearly separated, but it’s probably worth the trouble.

PS 1.34GB isn’t that bad - I’m currently pushing a 4.6GB file around… my hardware is NOT amused
On top of the above great clues, if you by any chance use SnapShots functionality, the file can bloat very quickly.
