Why Can I never get _scale to work?

Methodology
select item (in this instance an image)
type scale
@ Base Point (press enter for automatic) type [Enter]
@ Scale Factor or first reference point type [4]

result nothing happens

why is this ?

Hi Bill -

Good question, that works fine here.
Please post both a 3dm file that can be used to troubleshoot and the output of the Rhino SystemInfo command.

Thanks Wim, I created a ‘clean’ file without any copyright stuff and lo and behold it works perfectly !! very odd… can I send original file privately ? what’s the best way to do that ?

Hi Bill -

Use Rhino Accounts and make sure to put a link to this thread in the comments field.
-wim

Thanks Wim,
I’ve done that now,

Hi Bill -

I looked at your file and am afraid that works just fine here.
Could you please add the SystemInfo data here?

I’m away from my PC until Monday
This is a System Info i posted on previous post - nothing much has changed other than auto-updates of Windows / Rhino / Intel drivers… although will post up to date on Monday

Hi Bill,

Do you perchance have the Rigid option in Scale turned on? The Rigid option keeps objects the same size, while altering the spacing between them. To scale objects you need it turned off:

Hi Bill,
First, you should disable Bella and test.
Go to Options → Plugins and search for Bella. Uncheck and restart Rhino. Test.

That is really the only difference between your computer and mine.
Keep watching for a repeatable set of steps.
If we can repeat it here, we can get it logged.

FYI, there is a newer nvidia driver for you get at your convenience.

Sincerely,
Mary Fugier

It’s not Bella… I had this issue before installing Bella
Could well be user error… I just can’t work out how !?

Hi Bill,

Is it just the image that won’t scale or anything at all in that file?

Regards
Jeremy

It’s a recurring problem i have … primarily (almost exclusively) with image files
