When going from one view side or top going to perspective zooms out max

when going from one view side or top going to perspective view it zooms out to .. well maximum only a dot isvisible of the parts you are working on , this since latest update , is there a setting i have missed or just a problem ?

i am using the cars for direct transform view, and strangely it does not happend to all drawings

Since it is only on some models. I might think it is a bad camera, or objects a long way away?

Can you send us an example model with the problem?

What pointing device are you using?

no a example is not easy , i found out it is only 1 model that has this problems is there a camera setting for the perspective view per model ? as it is strange with some moving around it works all ok but when going full view top then to persective it zooms out complete in other views it zooms out a little is there some setting we missed ?

Two things to try:

  1. try running 4view command twice in a row. This will rebuild the viewports.
  2. When it is in its odd zoom out condition take a look at the view properties panel and let’s look at the coordinates of the camera target:

4view does not help , but the screen data is here enclosed indeed large, i can not change it , only if i select a part from the drawing and isolate then it goes to a normal 3d view in perpective , but not when all is on

Yes, so those values are really big. So I can see it is zoomed way out.

One thing is a BadObject can be the problem. Try SelbadObject and see if it selects any objects.

I expect there is an object a long way away. I have a process to find them.

Normally I window in half the screen and see if it selects anything? It normally looks like a small dot. Down below it will report how many objects it selected. I normally find on half of the screen returns one object. And that this the errant object.

The reason the orthagonal views do no go crazy is that the objects are behind others but in view.

well found it , there was a tiny bit somewhere far away , i did search allready for it but could not find any now found and that solved it, so weird that it was not visible , but now gone

One trick is to run the BoundingBox command and Select All and ensure your output is set to Solids. This gives you a reference to where the bugger is.

yes that is a good idea , we found the thing by coincedence .. now solved ..
