I’ve read a lot of topics here but i’m still wondering what laptop to get.
My budget is around 800-1000€.
Is the GPU so important for creating 3000-4000kb files? I’m an insole designer that uses Rhino 8hours/week.
Anyone got some suggestions?
I’ve personally found some laptops but they all are with a shared (integraded) GPU (amd radeon graphics or intel iris xe graphics). These laptops are ryzen 7 or core i7 with 16MB ram and 512GB SSD
I’ve found some other laptops with a 4GB nvidia gtx 1650 or rtx 3050 but then i need to go for ryzen 5 or core i5 to stay in my budget.
I’m now using a 15" screen and was thinking to go for 17" screen but it’s not necessary. I’m happy with 15 but bigger is welcome.
If I do follow the topic it’s not recommended to go for an integraded gpu.
Do you have any idea about the gtx1650 card? Will it work well? I only read about the rtx series.
assuming you are doing 3mb to 4mb files? these are relatively small by today’s standards.
Yes RTX 1060 runs okay with rhino also the 12th Gen Intel i5 is a really good processor. If this stays with your budget and file sizes, then go for it. I also suggest 32GB of Ram just in case,
Yes my files are really small and my designtime is about 10-15minuts.
Currently I’m using nvidia GeForce 820M, integraded RAMDAC and it works also fine (rhino 5).
With a new laptop I want it better/faster and compatibel with rhino 7 in the future without having problems.
