What export option for 3D into autocad showing surfaces?

I need to send someone my 3D finished project with it showing coloured surfaces, (colours supplied by the layer colour a surface is on)
I tried .dwg 2004 but opening into Rhino it is wireframe even when shaded mode is chosen., and thus a confusing mass of lines etc.

what is the best export option to use ?

Ideally one that keeps the layers so the recipient can turn them on and off to see better the sub parts.
Ideally #2 also that would allow the dimensions I have to travel with it.

When saving or exporting the file as dwg, you get an option for export scheme, choosing the 2007 solids scheme should do what you want.
