Weird texture bug/distortion on rhino 7

I’ve recently switched to rhino 7 and immediately started getting these weird pixel distortions on some materials(original rhino materials) in my render view. Ive tried re-assigning these materials but i can’t seem to fix the issue. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Hello - Please run the SystemInfo command in Rhino and copy/paste the results here.

Hi @saubaone,

That looks pretty strange. Can you send us the file that is having problems, even if it’s really simple? Can you also give step-by-step instructions for how to reproduce the issue? You can attach the file here or send it using Rhino - Upload to Support.

Hi @DavidEranen,
Attached is a simplified version of the 3D model Im currently working on. The issue appears as soon as I open the file and it shows in different areas every time I open it. I have also attached images showing two versions of bug which appeared on separate occasions. My hunch was that it resonated from the mapping of the material but it these bugs seems to happen on both “WCS” and “Channel 1” mapping… Please try open the file several times because sometimes the issue won’t show up at all.
Thank you

Thanks. Unfortunately I’m unable to reproduce the problem even after opening the file many times. I created a YouTrack item and assigned it to @andy because he has an AMD card. I’m hoping he can reproduce it.

Thank you David. hopefully there is an answer to this,

@DavidEranen
Hi, Andy was able to reproduce the problem. Has there been any progress on solving this issue?

Hi,

I’m afraid not. I’m currently busy with another thing but I will try to get to it soon.

please let me know if you had any updates on this issue… thank you!

Hi @saubaone,

We’ve been able to reproduce the issue but not fix it. It seems to be an AMD GPU driver problem, because we’re not seeing this with any other GPU.

Can you please test this workaround: After loading the file, can you run the command TestDavidEClearTextureCaches and press ClearAllCaches. This should work around the issue in the current Rhino session. Keep in mind that the command is a test command so it won’t auto-complete.
