Title is self explanatory. Even if “Snap to Occluded” is turned off in Snap Options, VA Objects keep snapping, which makes working with the file impossible (= extremely slow and painful) without constantly isolating objects.
If all VA Objects are exploded to polysurfaces, snapping works properly, which means occluded objects are ignored when snapping.
If only the front walls (in the examples shown below) are exploded to polysurfaces, snapping continues to be problematic, which shows that VA Objects just ignore the setting, they are not “transparent” themselves.
The issue occurs in any Shaded Display Mode (even Hidden), here shown in Shaded.
Converted the same geometry to GH Geometry Cache, and snaps work correctly (mentioned for possible debugging).
In the examples below all Snap Menu Options are off (Snap to Occluded, Apparent Intersections, and so on).
Any thoughts? Is this the normal Behaviour? If yes, it should be seriously put to top priority for the next release and especially VA3. It really destroys the experience and feels like a absolute, double bug.

I can reproduce the problem. I have to admit that I was not aware of this option. I believe this option was not available in Rhino 6 (so it was implicitly always set to true), and we didn’t make any enhancements in VisualARQ for Rhino 7 related to point snapping.
I am now trying to implement “Snap to occluded objects” in VisualARQ 2.13.1. I hope to fix it today. I will keep you posted.
Thank you for the reply and more than thank you for the fix. I will try it and provide feedback as soon as possible.
Snap to occluded was introduced in Rhino 6. And made things worse to be honest. Many users, including me (i have been using rhino since version 3) where not pleased with the new snapping behaviour.
With occluded on, it is too difficult to work, with occluded off, too “dry” selection. But still, occluded off, is the only option to work without object isolation nowdays.
I remember the time that Rhino snapping was a joy to use, especially in Ghosted Mode, prioritising near objects, simply worked, nothing special to consider while working.
Deeply thank you, again, for this fix. Together with the undo fix in the last version (which audited all VAObjects in every undo and in large files it took up to 2 minutes for a single undo), it will greatly enhance VA Experience.
